How To Shop

Buying from Mommie Helen's Bakery is easy and secure. You don't have to download software to shop here. And when you place an order, you can feel confident that your credit card information is protected by secure server and encryption technique. There are several ways to shop on our site. Here's how:
  • Category: To shop for items in our store, you may browse the sections on the left by going directly to the one that interests you. Clicking on any section will link you to another page that will display all sections in that category.

Please allow a minimum of 24 hours to pick up orders from the date ordered. If you require your order sooner, please call the bakery to arrange a time for pick up.

Using The Shopping Cart

For every in-stock item, there will be an button. This button adds the item to your shopping basket. Putting something in your shopping basket does not commit you to buying it. After you put something in your shopping basket, you can choose to place the order immediately, or continue shopping.
  • Place Order - When you have finally added all the necessary items to your cart. You can place an order through our secure site.
  • Keep Shopping - to add more items to your shopping list. Clink on the "Keep Shopping" button to return to Mommie Helen's Bakery's main page.
  • Update Cart - You can put as many items as you want in your shopping basket. To change the quantity of the item, enter in the new quantity and press update cart. When you're finished and want to place the order, you can get back to your shopping basket by clicking on the View Cart button.
  • Register - If this is your first purchase with us, you have the option of registering with us. On the top of the page, there is a "My Account" button that you can click. Registering with us speeds up the process on your next order. The billing and shipping information only needs to be entered once when you register.
  • Remove - Use this button to remove an item from your shopping cart.

All online transactions at Mommie Helen's Bakery are handled with industry-standard SSL encryption.

When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us.

For added security, we also encrypt the credit card number when it is stored on disk.

Completing Your Order And Checking Out


Once you finalize your shopping needs. Completing the ordering process is fast and easy. Fill out the billing, payment and pickup location and you are on your way to get your order.
  • Delivery Location: Please select the delivery location where you will pick up your order. Note that for many Farmer's Market locations we are there for only a few hours on one day per week. If you plan to pick up your order at one of those locations, you must pick it up during those hours.
  • Change or cancellation of order: If your plans change and you are unable to do a pickup at the approximate time selected and need to cancel or change the order or the pickup time, please notify the bakery at least 24 hours ahead of time. We cannot refund orders which are not properly canceled or changed.
  • Billing Address - Please enter in your billing address. We do an Address Verification System to check all orders for accuracy.  If you do not enter in the correct billing address, your order may be delayed.
  • Payment Methods - Enter in your payment method that you would like to use. We accept most forms of payment.
  • Placing Your Order - After you've fully completed the required information, click on the "Place Order" button. A new screen will appear revealing your order summary and invoice page. After you've reviewed the information for accuracy, click on the button "Place Order" to finish the order process. You will then get a confirmation page and a order number to reference to. The order then will be sent to our processing center.

Warming Instructions


All Pies and Cobblers are fully cooked. Keep refrigerated until ready to warm. If storing longer than four days, keep pies and cobblers frozen until you are ready to bake.
 
Cobbler warming instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Adjust temperature and/or time due to oven variations;
  • Let pie completely thaw for 1 hour if frozen;
  • Remove lid from the top of pie.
  • Place cobbler on baking sheet on center rack of oven;
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until pie begins to slightly bubble.
Caution: When removing baked cobbler or pie from oven while it is still on the baking sheet, never lift pie or cobbler pan by the edges. Filling is hot!
 
Sweet potato and pecan Pie warming instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Adjust temperature and/or time due to oven variations.
  • Let pie completely thaw for 1 hour if frozen.
  • Remove plastic wrap from pie.
  • Place on baking sheet on center rack of oven.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes.
Pie or cobbler may be served cold or at room temperature. Promptly cover and store cooled unused portion of baked pie for up to four days in refrigerator.  Baked goods will last up to three months in the freezer.
